Community Service Activities

1.  In March 2008, I began serving on Southampton Town's newly created Sustainable Southampton Advisory Committee.

2. Climate Change.  I am the founder and coordinator of Long Island's Climate Solutions Network and member of Long Island's Sustainable Energy Alliance.  In 2007, I worked on the United Nation's 60th Annual DPI/NGO Conference, entitled Climate Change: How It Impacts Us All. In 2008, I began working with Climate Caucus to build upon the 60th Annual conference work.  We are currently developing a book to review NGO efforts addressing climate change around the world.

3.  I am a member of the Graduation Pledge Alliance's Advisory Board.

4. I am the faculty advisor to C.W. Post's Environmental Club, PEACE and Focus the Nation, their global warming project.

5. I serve on Suffolk County's Transportation Advisory Board and a former-advisor to the East End's Five Towns Rural Transit  and participant in the Sustainable East End Development Strategies Project.

6.  Advisor to Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition and Prevention is the Cure on a variety of environmental health initiatives.

7. Participant in Renew Community Earth, a Long Island sustainable education project emphasizing the need for a deeper non-exploitive relationship with our planet.  Renew Community Earth emphasizes experiential learning modalities and spiritual-scientific dialogues akin to Bioneers and IONS.
