First, it is my belief that active-learning is vital to students learning, and team-working is critical for information science professions.
-
Second, I feel that a teacher should never intimidate a student or talk down to students. To create an interesting learning environment is important to me. I would like them to say that it is fun and interesting to attend my classes.
-
Third, my philosophy in the required course is not to overload the students with complex theories, but rather to reiterate the basics over and over through various teaching strategies, to elicit students to be as enthusiastic and interested in the topic as I am, and to empower students skills and knowledge with which they can go out to solve the problems they will encounter in the their future careers.
In sum, it is not only the factual knowledge I equip my students with, but also the critical thinking, research and other practical skills I will empower my students with to prepare them to be ahead of their peers in their career development.
