Framed Counted Cross Stitch, 12 inches by 14 inches (including frame), January/February,
2007
This piece demonstrates, for the group D4, all its elements, subgroups and,
using colors, the cosets for the various subgroups. The inspiration for this
piece came while I was designing and cross stitching all the symmetry patterns
possible in counted cross stitch.
Framed Counted Cross Stitch, 16 inches by 16 inches (including frame), October/November,
2006
This piece demonstrates some of the wall paper patterns possible in counted
cross stitch. It was designed as the project for a chapter about symmetry patterns
in counted cross stitch in an upcoming book about mathematics and fiber arts.
Framed Counted Cross Stitch, (without glass), 16 ¼ inches by 14 inches
(including frame), August/September 2006
This piece demonstrates the twelve wallpaper patterns possible in counted cross
stitch all using the same basic motif. It was designed for this purpose and
to be included in the book mentioned above.

"I n the process of looking at symmetry patterns possible in counted cross
stitch, I was encouraged to design my own demonstrations of them. In the process
of the designing, other algebraic/geometric concepts appeared to be representable
and these lead to some additional designs. I have been accepted to give a talk
at MathFest and it will be “about” the first project."
