A TYPICAL PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS PURSUING A B.S. DEGREE IN CHEMISTRY

The B.S. degree is approved by the American Chemical Society and students earning this degree are certified by the American Chemical Society. This degree is recommended for students planning to pursue advanced degrees in Chemistry. Students studying for the B.S. degree complete the same courses as the B.A. majors, along with courses in Spectroscopic Identification of Organic Compounds (CHM 24), Analytical Instrumentation (CHM 38), Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (CHM 48), Basic Biochemistry (CHM 71), two semesters of Senior Research (CHM 98, 99) and either a course in Quantum Chemistry (CHM 57) or Advanced Organic Chemistry (CHM 85).

For information about the B.A. or B.S. degrees in chemistry, the B.S. degree in Forensic Science, the B.S. degree in Adolescence Education: Chemistry (Grades 7-12) or a minor in chemistry, contact our undergraduate advisor.
